Why I Built Backspin Social
I've loved golf since I was 12 years old. Like many golfers, I wasn't destined for the professional tour, but I never loved the game enough to walk away from it. Golf has always been my happy place.
By nature, I'm a data person. As golf simulator technology continued to evolve, I became fascinated by the ability to analyze every part of my game, from swing speed and spin rates to ball flight and club path. It positively changed how I practiced and experienced golf, both in a simulator and out on the course.
That passion eventually grew into something bigger. As a family-owned business, Backspin Social was built to create a place where golfers of every skill level could practice, compete, connect, and simply enjoy spending time together. We opened our Wilmington location in October 2023 and our Leland location in July 2026.
